Weekly Sketchbook: Replenishing the Well

For this sketchbook spread, I decided to just play around. I replenish my creative well when I create without pressure or process. I began by layering some paper, journaling, then painting over it when I didn't love how it was looking. I flipped through some of my favorite magazines, then collaged this figure. I went back in with some gouache and decided to freestyle some fun text over the collage.

The entire time I worked on this spread, I was playing. I tried to brush off any perfectionism or pressure and ended up really enjoying this spread.

I replenish my well by making without fear of mistakes or failure. For me, there is nothing more both relaxing and energizing than this.
